We are a church family in Watford, Hertfordshire that is seeking to love God, love one another, and love the world around us through being house of worship, prayer and hope.

OUR STORY

Soul Survivor began in 1993 when a small team were released by St Andrews Chorleywood to plant what we now call Soul Survivor Watford. It began with 11 people in someone’s front room on a Wednesday evening, and we’ve being growing ever since. The original vision was to provide a place where young people from all over Watford could come. ‘Dreggs Café’ was launched, providing an atmosphere where young people could be cared for and loved, sparking an interest in Jesus. Over the years we’ve been joined by people of all ages and now have three services which attract different age groups, as well as youth and children’s work.

We’re an Anglican church which means we’re part of the Church of England but we’re very relaxed and informal. We meet in two warehouses next to each other on an industrial estate in North Watford and hold three services each Sunday at 9.15am, 11.30am and 6.30pm. We also livestream our 11.30am service each Sunday so you can join us any time you like without even leaving your house!

Our services usually last around an hour and a half. We make plenty of space for sung worship because this is so much more than singing songs - it’s an opportunity to encounter God! We also hear talks based on teaching from the Bible, and we pray for one another in the power of the Holy Spirit. We take God seriously but we don’t take ourselves seriously so you’ll find we’re not very slick and we’re often laughing! We love to spend time together as a family, and eating together is something close to our hearts so do check out our social events and come along and say hello - we’d love to meet you.

Please do get in touch with our team if you have any questions about us or about the Christian faith. We would love to chat to you and there’s no pressure, we’d just love to make you feel welcome in our family.

OUR VALUES

INTIMATE WORSHIP

God is worthy of our worship and adoration and while we recognise that worship is a lifestyle, we also see a biblical priority in spending time corporately in song, telling God how much we love him. When we focus on God he meets with us, changes us and empowers us, but this is a wonderful by-product.  Worship is to God, for God and about God.

RELEVANT EVANGELISM

Meeting Jesus changed our lives! We want other people to discover the joy of knowing him too so we look for ways of sharing the gospel that are relevant and accessible. Soul Survivor Watford is not a place to escape into Christian sub-culture, but somewhere we are all equipped and encouraged to engage in the world around us. We believe that worship, evangelism and justice go hand in hand.

COMMITTED COMMUNITY

We place a high value on community and family. We desire to be one body, encouraging, challenging and loving one another through life’s highs and lows. We aim to make our meetings accessible to everyone, valuing informality and fun. We take God seriously but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We believe that in God’s family we all have a part to play.

What we believe - The Doctrine of Belief

Soul Survivor Watford subscribes to the core tenets of the Christian faith as set out in the historic creeds of the Church. See the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith.
