THE HOPE BOX PROJECT
We are so excited to invite all our youth to take part in a special initiative that we're launching this Christmas — the Hope Box Project!
This project is all about caring for those who care for others. Sometimes, when someone you love is rushed into hospital, it's easy to forget about yourself while you sit by their side, scared and worried. After 24 hours without basic essentials like wet wipes, deodorant, or toothpaste, it can start to feel even harder to cope.
That's why we're putting together care boxes filled with simple toiletries and little treats — things that help someone feel human again and a little more able to manage during a stressful time.
WHO CAN GET INVOLVED? WHEN & WHERE?
Older Youth, bring your box on Tuesday 9th December at our usual meeting time, where we’ll wrap them in Christmas paper and get them ready for delivery.
On 16th December, four staff members from Watford General Hospital will come to collect the boxes and personally thank our youth and church for their generosity.
This is a beautiful way to show love, bring hope!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
If you have plenty of shoeboxes but don't have the means to fill one, or you're happy to just buy a few items, that's completely okay.
If you want to fill a whole box yourself, or partner up with a few friends, that's great too!
Please don't feel any pressure. If this is a struggle financially, don't worry — we will have extra shoeboxes and items to put in them so everyone can take part.
You could even write a letter of encourgement!
Take a shoebox and choose some items from this list to include:
Dry shampoo
Deodorant
Face wipes / baby wipes
Toothbrush & toothpaste
Fem wipes
Disposable razor & foam
Sanitary products
Lip balm
Moisturiser
Comb
Small tissue pack
Hand cream
Eye mask
Nail files
Pen / small notepad
A letter of encouragement and hope
Small pack of mints
