Cell groups

You've probably heard it said that a church isn't a building. That's true, it's not. We also think a church isn't just a sunday morning (afternoon or evening) service either.

A church is a bunch of people journeying together learning to love God more and express that with their lives.

Sounds good doesn't it. And though at Soul Survivor we absolutely love gathering together each Sunday as family to sing worship songs to God, to spend time learning from his word and waiting on his holy Spirit, we also love spending time together, talking about our lives, praying together and seeking God together. We can do this in loads of ways, but cell groups are one of the key church organised ways that we can 'be church' in the week.

When, what, where, how?

Good questions. But the answers aren't simple. The when, what, where and how all depend on the particular cell group. Most meet for a few hours from around 7.30pm on a Wednesday night in someone's home, but others might head down the local pub, get together on Monday's or arrange stuff every other week. Some cell groups will be aimed at young people, where as others might be geared a bit more to families.

All the groups are different, but they will all involve some kind of time to hang out and catch up with other people from the church, time to pray through stuff going on in our lives and time to reflect on how Jesus fits to all our busyness!
