Connecting with God and one another

Connect Groups are a brilliant way to build community as we connect with God and one another. There are a wide range of groups that usually meet to explore what it means to follow Jesus and to build family through Bible studies, worship, sharing meals or gathering around shared interests. The groups run at various times with the hope that there is a group to suit each one of us.

**Please note that even if a Connect Group meets online, we’re only able to make them available to our local church family (i.e. those who would usually attend on a Sunday). We’re so sorry we don’t have the capacity to include friends from further afield but we hope you can find a local group where you can create ongoing community.**

Finding a Group

It’s brilliant that you want to join a group but with so much choice how do you find the one that’s right for you?!

  • Have a scroll through the descriptions and see what grabs you - our group leaders have tried to explain what makes their group unique and give you a flavour of what to expect

  • Check which ones have space - if they do it will have a blue ‘Sign Up’ button under the description.

  • You can use the search function to look for key words such as ‘Bible study’ or ‘Young Adults’ (Use Ctrl + F on Windows or Cmd + F on Mac and write your key word, and press enter, then group descriptions that include your key word will be highlighted.)

  • Look at the days and times that the groups meet to see what best suits your schedule

  • Speak to Andy Symonds. Andy is overseeing all of our Connect Groups and he’d be happy to chat and help you find a group that works for you. Drop him an email here!

  • Give one a go and see! Signing up for a group doesn’t mean you’re committed for life! You’re really welcome to contact the group leaders and say you’d like to try out their group to see if it’s the right fit for you. They won’t be offended if you try another group the following week and decide you’d like to go elsewhere. We just want you to find the place that feels most comfortable for you so please do be in touch if we can help.

FAQs

Why is there a sign up button for some and not for others?

If a group has spaces then the sign up button will allow you to join. If there isn't a button, this means that the group is full.

I am not a member of Soul Survivor Watford. Is it okay if I join a Connect Group?

Most of our Connect Groups are aimed at building community within Soul Survivor Watford. By joining a Connect Group you will be joining the community here at the church. Some groups, such as the football group are open to bring along your friends - these groups will mention this in the description.

What happens when a group is full?

When a group is full the 'sign up for this group' button will not be available on this web page, we would encourage you to look for another that you feel you could make your home in.

The group I am in isn't for me, can I join another?

Yes, there is no pressure to remain in a group you are already part of. You are free to sign up to any group you would like, as long as you fit the age and gender brackets.

Can I attend more than one group?

Yes, you can sign up to as many groups as you would like, but please be aware of others who may want to join - especially if there are not many remaining spaces in that group.
