SSW Youth

The heart of the work with young people is to empower them in Jesus name to love God and to demonstrate His love and salvation to their communities. God has given everyone unique gifts and skills which need to be released to build His church.

Here in Watford around our values of relevant evangelism, active compassion, committed community and intimate worship, this is our heart, to reach out to and build up the young people of Watford with Jesus love and heart for them...

We are a church for young people and not a youth group, being a church for young people having youth specific focuses to enable this building and releasing of God’s young people to take place here and wherever God sends us.

Currently we have two cell groups meeting weekly, one for girls who are in school years 9/10 in Chorleywood and one for any one school years 12+ in North Watford. We are also pioneering a monthly cell group called 'Breakthru' for young people 13+ and we are hoping this will become more regular in the autumn.

ARENA – Is a new venue run by young people, for young people 6pm-7pm every Sunday night in school term time. It’s a chance to listen to some music, unwind from the weekend before church or as a place to meet people. It includes sports, a café, video games, and DJs. 

Sports: Football on Monday nights 6pm-8pm in the summer on Radlett playing fields, and times tbc at Parminters School in Winter. Ultimate Frisbee is played indoors as well.

Noise: Once monthly we encourage young people to join in with the Noise as well as being involved in local schools work, through support of Christian unions, and possible lunchtime and after school clubs, see Adam Prior for details.
